After nearly two years in the tripawd family I thought I take the plunge and start a blog. I realise that it may be something of a lasting tribute to Dotty, some way to immortalise her smelly, scruffy, obnoxious little self.
Dotty had a tough start to her life as a tripawd and battled a nasty infection in her wound site, we used cabbage poultices to draw the infection out as suggested by our lovely vet Megan Alderson at Strand Vets here in Auckland. Megan was open-minded and took a creative approach to the situation, she supplemented traditional antibiotics with the cabbage idea and put hospital grade manuka honey directly onto the wound. Dot came right and has had nearly two great years hopping around and making new friends everywhere. Nothing starts a conversation like a friendly 3 legged dog!

So glad you are doing this! I’ve been with you and Dotty since the beginning. I remember how scary some of her initial challenges were. And I remember how enthralled we all were with the remedies your vet was coming up with. Glad you me tioned that here because it was very valuable information.
Keep in keeping on sweet Dotty! We are all cheering for our favorite scruffy!!!
Love!
